About SLPRB Assam Extension Officer Recruitment:

State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam has announced recruitment for 87 posts of Extension Officer, 24 posts of Economic Investigator, 16 posts of Junior Assistant and 04 posts of Stenographer Grade-III. All the candidates filled their online application form and now they are waiting for the exam. Soon the written test will be conducted and the exam date will be announced on the official website of Assam Police. More details about the exam are given below.

Nowadays the level of competition has become very high so competitive exams become very difficult. Aspirants facing the serious problem of “what to prepare” and “how to prepare” to give their best in their exam. So, here we are providing the latest syllabus and exam pattern.

Selection Process:

Extension Officer (Industry) and Economic Investigator (EI)

  • Phase I Exam (Written Exam)
  • Phase II Examination (Computer Based)

Junior Assistant (HQ Level)

  • Phase I Exam (Written Exam)
  • Phase II Examination (Computer Based)

Stenographer Grade-III

  • Phase I Exam (Written Exam)
  • Phase II Examination (Computer Based)
  • shorthand test

Phase I Exam (Written Exam)

Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of the written exam is as follows:-

  • The examination will be of written objective type.
  • The test will be of 100 marks consisting of 100 questions.
  • Each question will be of 1 (one) mark.
  • The duration of the written examination will be of two and a half hours.
  • There will be negative marking of (half) mark for each wrong answer.
  • Candidates have to use black ball pen to answer OMR based answer sheet on the following subjects:-
    1. General Mathematics.
    2. Language,
    3. Logical Reasoning and Aptitude
    4. History, Geography, Political Science, Economy etc. of India and Assam
    5. General Awareness / General Knowledge & Current Affairs

Comment: There will be separate question paper for Extension Officer (INDS) and Economic Investigator (EI) and separate question paper for Junior Assistant and Stenographer (Grade-III).

Scrutiny of all original documents along with one set of self attested photostat copies of documents will be done before the qualified candidates are allowed to appear in the second stage examination. Furnishing any false information or forged documents at any stage will lead to disqualification of the candidate and may also make him liable to criminal prosecution. Original documents of a candidate may also be kept for scrutiny at any later stage of the recruitment process.

Candidates failing to bring the original will not be considered for the qualifications claimed by them and no further correction will be entertained after the test date.

  • Testimonials/documents to be submitted on appearing in the second stage examination,
    1. Certificate of proof of age. (Admit Card of HSLC or equivalent examination)
    2. Certificate and mark sheet of minimum educational qualification for the respective posts
    3. Advance Computer Proficiency Certificate on Computer Application / Industrial Management from Govt. Recognized University/ Institute for the post of Extension Officer (Industry) for General Degree holder.
      In case of candidates having Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent from any Govt. Registered / UGC recognized / recognized University / Institute, no need to submit separate Diploma Certificate in Computer.
    4. Certificate of Stenography for the post of Stenographer (Grade – III).
    5. For Junior Assistant & Stenographer (Grade – III) Minimum 3 (Three) months Basic Computer Certificate Course in MS Word, MS Excel, Internet Browsing etc. from recognized Institute.
    6. Caste certificate from the competent authority in respect of candidates belonging to OBC/ MOBC, SC, ST (P) and ST (H).
    7. EWS certificate from the competent authority.
    8. 2 (two) copies of recent passport size photographs

second stage test

Candidates will be called for the second stage examination in the order of merit at the rate of 5 (five) times the number of posts allotted in respect of each category (UR, OBC/ MOBC, SC, ST (P), ST (H) and EWS) both male and female.

The Phase II exam will be a computer based test to test the knowledge of the posts applied for and the proficiency of computer operation.

Final Selection –

On the basis of overall performance of the candidates in Phase I Examination (Written Test) and Phase II Examination, category wise final merit list will be prepared as per vacancies shown in the advertisement:

Extension Officer (Industry) and Economic Investigator (EI)

  1. Phase I Examination (Written Test) – 100 Marks
  2. Phase II Examination (Computer Based) – 30 Marks
    Total – 130 Marks

Junior Assistant (HQ Level)

  1. Phase I Examination (Written Test) – 100 Marks
  2. Stage II Examination (Computer Based) – 20 Marks
    Total – 120 Marks

Stenographer Grade-III

  1. Phase I Examination (Written Test) – 100 Marks
  2. Stage II Examination (Computer Based) – 20 Marks
  3. Stenography Test – 30 Marks
    Total – 150 Marks
